About the Business

Prodigal Pieces is a small business that was formed out of a desire to create unqiue furniture full of character. What started out as a love for redeeming furniture in 2012, evolved into a blog and brand where bringing new life to beautifully created, but otherwise, in need of love, unwanted, or outdated pieces, also is about making your house your home.

Hard to believe this antique dressing table was put curbside for city trash cleanup. From curbside to French beauty - a must see by Prodigal Pieces www.prodigalpieces.com #prodigalpieces

Why the name?  Our faith is what drives us and we believe we are all called to be like the prodigal son, who realized the error of his ways, was repentant, and returned to God.  He became new by rejoicing in being God’s wonderful creation redeemed by the blood of His Son, Jesus. (Luke 15:11-32)

About Me

Larissa, owner of Prodigal Pieces

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about the blog and my purpose.  I am Larissa, owner of Prodigal Pieces – my entrepreneurial beginning.  My life has many facets, homeschooling mother to 6 glorious children, homemaker, avid real food advocate, gardener, crafter in all its forms (crochet, sewing, needlepoint, painting, woodworking…you name it!), and wife to my wonderful high-school sweetheart, who is my behind-the-scenes partner in this business.

In my past, I have earned a college degree majoring in Interpersonal & Organizational Communication with a minor in Business Administration. During my collegiate career, I have had photography, bible, and various other courses which have brought me to where I am today. I even had the opportunity to work on the college paint crew. (you can learn oodles by hands-on applications!)

If You Give a Lady a Patio Set...this major patio overhaul is the result of receiving a free patio set. With a DIY attitude, we're creating an outdoor room complete with pergola, dining, swing, and living room. Come see! by Prodigal Pieces www.prodigalpieces.com #prodigalpieces

As a child, I grew up in a family of 6 and one of my quirks was to rearrange my mother’s house at a whim.  She would come home to find the furniture in a totally different arrangement or would hear my furniture scooting across the floor in my bedroom at which she would call out, “What are you doing up there?”  A love of furniture and design has always been a part of me.

Although I enjoy my business, my family comes first.  The business is the “icing on the cake” for me.  Fun, profitable, and, hopefully, a blessing to those I come in contact with.

I would love to hear from you! You can message me at [email protected].
